A weekend to calm your nerves, sleep better, and feel ready — body and mind — for race day. Perfect for runners tapering for Twin Cities Marathon, Bemidji Blue Ox Marathon or Mankato.

 Does this sound like you?

  • You feel jittery, anxious, or mentally scattered leading up to race day
  • Tapering leaves you feeling unsure what to do — or not do
  • You’re tempted to squeeze in “one more workout” just in case
  • You struggle to sleep well the week before your race
  • You miss the joy of the final stretch because your nervous system won’t settle

 Now imagine this instead:

  • Feeling grounded, calm, and mentally focused as race day approaches
  • Knowing exactly how to support your body during taper week — without overdoing it
  • Learning pre-race rituals, breathing techniques, and recovery tools that actually work
  • Sleeping better, eating with purpose, and trusting your training
  • Enjoying the lead-up to your race with clarity, connection, and confidence

✨Come relax, move mindfully, and recover fully in community — so you can toe the start line feeling ready to race with confidence.

Led by Angie Clark, Ed.D.

Angie Clark is a seasoned runner who has completed over 35 marathons, five ultra-marathons, and countless half marathons and shorter-distance races since 2007. She’s a certified RRCA Run Coach, Yoga Teacher, and Ayurvedic Wellness Coach with a doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Angie’s research focused on how yoga nidra—a deep yogic rest practice—affects well-being, and her passion lies in helping runners integrate ancient wellness wisdom into modern training life. After years of struggling to balance work, training, and recovery, she found freedom and joy in a more mindful approach to running.

She now helps runners overcome common challenges like poor digestion, stress, and sleep disruptions—not with quick fixes or pills, but through personalized habits rooted in Ayurveda, movement, and breath.

Angie’s coaching is grounded in authenticity, creativity, education, and fun. In 2025, she founded Soulful Run School, a coaching and education platform that integrates running with mindful living—helping runners move beyond pace and mileage to run with flow and live with soul.

2025 Theme: Using Circadian Rhythms to Optimize Running Performance

At the heart of both yoga and Ayurveda lies the rhythm of nature — and learning to live, move, and rest in alignment with these rhythms is a game-changer for runners.

During this retreat, we’ll explore how syncing your daily habits with the body’s natural cycles can enhance energy, recovery, digestion, and mindset. You’ll learn how Ayurvedic wisdom and modern performance science both point to the same truth: when you honor your internal clock, your running (and your life) flows with more ease, strength, and clarity.

🌀 What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient system of holistic medicine from India that emphasizes balance between the body, mind, and natural rhythms of life. It teaches that optimal health comes from living in sync with nature — including what you eat, how you move, and how you rest.

At the retreat, you’ll explore how Ayurvedic principles can support your running by aligning with your body’s natural energy cycles, enhancing recovery, and deepening your connection to yourself — on and off the trail.

You don’t need to know anything about Ayurveda to benefit. Come with curiosity and leave with tools for running and living with more intention, ease, and vitality.

Nighty Night Social: Ayurvedic Nightcaps for Runner's Rest
After our welcome circle and evening yoga, wind down with a guided demo of calming nighttime drinks rooted in Ayurvedic and herbal traditions. You’ll learn how to prepare these soothing elixirs to nourish the nervous system, quiet the mind, and support deep, restorative sleep. We’ll sip and settle into the weekend with intention and ease.

 1. The Ayurvedic Clock for Runners: Understanding the Doshas of the Day

Explore how each time of day carries specific energies (Kapha, Pitta, and Vata), and how aligning your runs, meals, and rest with these windows can elevate both performance and recovery.

2. Awaken & Align: Creating a Morning Routine for Energy & Focus

Design a nourishing, dosha-balancing morning ritual to support digestion, mental clarity, and pre-run readiness — including tongue scraping, hydration, movement, and breathwork.

3. Evening Wind-Down: Reset Your Nervous System for Rest & Repair

Learn nighttime rituals to improve sleep quality and support tissue regeneration — including self-massage (Abhyanga), herbal support, and screen-free practices that calm Vata and ground your energy.

4. Fueling with the Sun: Eating in Rhythm for Energy & Recovery

This workshop explores Ayurvedic principles for meal timing, seasonal foods, and race fueling — all in sync with your digestive fire and solar energy. Perfect for runners seeking more intuitive nourishment.

5. Tapering in Harmony: Slowing Down Without Losing Momentum

Discover how to structure your taper period with mindful movement, reflective practices, and light Ayurvedic detox strategies that keep you calm, clear, and race-day ready.
